2017 Toyota Fortuner TRD launched in India

Last week, we brought you exclusive pictures of the soon to be launched Toyota Fortuner Sportivo. The SUV has already started to reach dealerships across the country and the dealers have revealed that the pricing for the vehicle will be around Rs 31 lakhs.

The vehicle will only be on offer in a single configuration and a single exterior body colour. The TRD kit will be offered only on the 2.8 diesel automatic 4×2 variant and it will be only available in white shade. The 2.8 engine is the same one on the Innova Crysta and it makes  174 Bhp and 420 Nm.

Changes on the car?

The kit is mainly a visual makeover. There is no change under the hood or in terms of the suspension or any other mechanical component. The kit includes a TRD grille, which has been finished in black and has the TRD logo on it as well, in red. Those who didn’t like the excess chrome in the stock car will be happy with the blacked out grille. In addition to the grille, the fog lamp housing is now blacked out as well and it features new skirting. On the side, there are side skirts and TRD graphics, that extend all the way into the rear bumper, which also gets new skirting. On the inside, we have all-black interiors with new floor mats too.

The company previously had the TRD on offer on the previous generation vehicle and since its update, the company didn’t launch the new variant.

Other than the TRD, Toyota offers the Fortuner with many other options. They have a diesel 4×4 in manual and automatic, a 2.7 liter petrol in manual and automatic and then they also have the diesel 4×2 in manual and automatic. What the company has done is introduced only a single fully loaded variant that offers all creature comforts.
