Toyota has launched two limited edition Fortuners, with a sporty look, called the TRD Sportivo, only for the festival season. The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo 4×2 Manual transmission variant is priced at Rs. 21.76 lakh and the automatic transmission 4×2 variant is priced at Rs. 22.6 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. Update: Toyota Fortuner 5-speed automatic launched
The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo Limited Edition is available in two colours each – super white and sliver mica metallic. The vehicles are about Rs. 60,000 more expensive than the regular Fortuner 4×2 manual and automatic variants.
For that extra Rs. 60,000 here’s what you get with the Fortuner TRD Sportivo Limited Edition. There’s a new front bumper that is aerodynamically styled, giving the vehicle a sporty look. It features extended spoilers on the lower half. At the rear, there is a roof spoiler that adds to the sporty look of the vehicle. The rear bumper too gets extended spoiler skirts and the boot door gets a TRD Sportivo emblem on it. Also see: Fortuner vs Pajero Sport

New features that were added to the 2012 Fortuner include traction control, reverse parking camera and a touch-screen infotainment system with Bluetooth phone controls. The vehicle can seat seven passengers in three rows and comes with leather upholstery as well as individual AC vents for all three rows. Related: 2012 Toyota Fortuner road test

The Fortuner is the best-selling premium SUV, selling over 1000 units a month and Toyota wants to keep up this momentum through the festive season. This festive season will also see the launch of a competitor to the Toyota Fortuner in the form of the Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton, that is to be launched on October 17, and hence Toyota wants to keep its product fresh to see off the competition. Toyota has also launched limited edition variants of the Etios, Innova and Altis for the festive season. Also read: Toyota Etios Liva Sportivo launched
