Ever since its launch in 2009, the Toyota Fortuner has consistently been the best-selling SUV in its segment, outperforming all of its competitors. Its imposing appearance, significant road presence, and bulletproof reliability have earned it a reputation as one of the most dependable SUVs on the market. In fact, even after 14 years, some of the first-generation models are still going strong. Recently, an owner of a 2009 Toyota Fortuner decided to give his trusty SUV a complete makeover, converting his type 1 Fortuner into a type 2 model, and a video of the process was recently shared online.
The video, uploaded by Autorounders on their YouTube channel, showcases the conversion of this first-generation Toyota Fortuner. The shop is renowned for performing similar conversions and facelifts on popular cars in the country, with the Toyota Innova and Fortuner being amongst the most commonly serviced. The presenter then mentions that the owner of this particular car had no intention of selling it and instead opted for a complete makeover, converting it from a type 1 to a type 2 Fortuner. He states that the owner sought a stock look and nothing over-the-top. He notes that they used aftermarket parts, which were imported from Malaysia, but if customers request, genuine Toyota parts could be arranged at a considerably higher cost.
