The Toyota Fortuner, known for its popularity in India, is considered one of the most sought-after SUVs in the country. Despite its launch in 2009, it continues to dominate its segment and remains a best-selling model. The Fortuner has maintained its position as the undefeated champion in its category, with no other model coming close to its success. Its enduring popularity can be attributed to various factors, but one of the key reasons is its reliability. Even the earlier generation models are still running strong due to their robust build quality and reliable engines. Consequently, many owners opt to transform their older Fortuners into newer-looking models rather than selling them. Recently, a video showcasing the conversion of a Type 1 Fortuner using an imported Lexus kit has gained attention online.

The video showcasing the conversion of a Toyota Fortuner with a Lexus kit has been shared on YouTube by Autorounders, featured previously on multiple occasions as one of the most popular automotive body shops in the country. They specialize in conversions of highly popular vehicles like Toyota Fortuners, Innovas, and other popular cars in the country. In this video, the shop owner introduces both the vehicle and the car’s owner before presenting the complete transformation.

The owner asks the son of the Fortuner’s owner how he discovered Autorounders for their car modification. In response, the son reveals that he found them on YouTube. He explains that he came across several conversions on their YouTube channel and subsequently recommended the shop to his father. Following this, the shop owner showcases the car’s exterior before the conversion, mentioning that they offer two types of conversions for Type 1 Fortuners. He explains that the first option is to transform the car into a Legender, while the second option involves converting it into a Type 2 with a Lexus kit.

After discussing the options, the owner expresses a personal preference for the second option of using the Lexus kit. He praises the imported nature of the kit and its excellent fit and finish. Additionally, he mentions the specific changes they will make for this conversion, including replacing the front bonnet, headlights, bumpers, grille, and fenders. He adds that they will also install a rear bumper, custom LED taillights, and a bootlid moniker finished with LEDs. Furthermore, he notes that they will fully repaint the car in the same elegant shade of white.

The video then proceeds to showcase the car’s interior. The shop owner mentions that they will change the interior by implementing dual-tone colors. The top half of the interior will be finished in dark grey, while the rest will be in light steel grey. They will also upgrade the infotainment system and add ambient lights. Furthermore, he emphasizes the importance of matching the steering wheel’s color with the dashboard, as having them finished in different colors would contradict the design ethics. The presenter also announces the installation of custom Italian leather seat covers for the car’s interior.

Continuing with the video, the car enters the disassembly area, where it is completely taken apart. The new parts are then test-fitted, and the car undergoes a dent removal process. All the dents are removed, and the car is filled with putty and sanded for primer. Afterward, the car enters the paint booth and emerges fully painted. Finally, once the paint job is completed, the car is reassembled with all the body parts and subsequently delivered to the customer.
