Toyota Fortuner is one of the most popular full size SUV in the market. It has been in the market for a very long time and is a capable SUV off-road. It is available in 4×2 and 4×4 options. There are several videos available online that show off-road capabilities of this SUV. Like Innova Crysta and Innova, Fortuner is also known for being rugged and highly reliable. There several type 1 and type 2 Fortuners that have completed lakhs of kms on odometer and are still running without any major issues. Many Toyota type 1 Fortuner owners often customise their SUV to give it a fresh look. Here we have one such video, where a type 2 Fortuner is neatly modified with a Lexus body kit.
The video has been uploaded by Autorounders on their YouTube channel. The video starts with video of how the SUV looked when it arrived at the workshop. The SUV’s original colour was silver and it looked well maintained. There were minor scratches and dents on the car that came on the car over the years of usage.

The SUV was taken to the workshop and the front bumper, headlamps and grille were removed. As this SUV was getting a Lexus kit conversion, some of the panels on the car had to be removed for a cleaner look. After the panels were removed, the minor dents and scratches on the SUV were worked on. Using a dent puller, the dents were levelled out. After the dents and scratches were corrected, a coat of black coloured primer was sprayed on to the car.
Once the primer had dried out, sanding was done on the whole car before painting. It should be noted that putty was used in some parts of the body to get an even look. The car was then taken to the paint booth where it was completely painted in black using a premium quality paint. Even the alloy wheels were painted in black for an even look. The calipers were given a Red shade for a sporty look. Coming to the conversion part, the front fascia was completely replaced. The car gets aftermarket projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. There is a massive Lexus grille at the front which is a single unit with the bumper. There are boomerang shaped multi-function LED DRLs on the bumper as well.
The original fog lamps have been replaced with LED units. Coming to the rear, the SUV gets aftermarket smoked LED tail lamps and the rear bumper has also been replaced with a Lexus kit which comes with integrated rear diffuser. Other than this, the interiors on this SUV also get slight customisations. The overall theme of the interior remains the same but, the seat covers have been changed. The SUV now gets custom fit leather seat covers which match with the exterior colour of the car. Overall, fit and finish and quality of the work done on this Fortuner looks very premium and is definitely a head turner specially because of the paint job
