India’s first Toyota Fortuner with a built-in toilet

Toyota Fortuner is the best selling full-size SUV in the Indian market. After the discontinuation of Ford Endeavor, the Fortuner is now unbeatable. The SUV is known for its immense reliability and butch road presence. People also like to modify their Fortuners. However, here is a unique one. This Fortuner has been fitted with a toilet.

The video is uploaded on YouTube by Revokid Vlogs. The host first starts by showing the exterior of the SUV. From the outside, the Fortuner looks like a typical top-end variant of the 2021 Fortuner. The only modification that has been done to the exterior is that the stock tyres have been replaced by BF Goodrich AT tyres.

Then we come to the main modification of the Fortuner that it has been fitted with a toilet. This can come in very useful for people who takes their SUV for camping and they do not want to use the public toilets. Considering the COVID-19 situation, a personal toilet seems like a good idea.

The toilet has been installed where the third-row would be. So, the third-row seats have been removed to make space for the toilet. It also comes with a dedicated water tank for the toilet. The vlogger says that even if the SUV is driven fast, the water won’t spill. Usually, we see a similar setup on caravans.

The vlogger does not mention the shop from which the modification has been done. We have seen a similar toilet setup on Mahindra Bolero. On the Bolero, curtains were also installed to provide some privacy to the person. The cost of the modification was around Rs. 65,000. The modification was done by Ojes Automobiles who also installed toilets in the vanity van of Mammootty and Prithviraj too.

Toyota Fortuner

The Fortuner now starts at Rs. 30.73 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 42.33 lakhs ex-showroom. It is competing against MG Gloster, Mahindra Alturas G4, Volkswagen Tiguan and the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq. It is offered in six variants, namely 4×2, 4×2 AT, 4×4, 4×4 AT, Legender and Legender 4×4.

There are two engine options to choose from. There is a 2.7-litre petrol engine and a 2.8-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 166 PS of max power and 245 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine now produces 204 PS of max power and 500 Nm of peak torque. Both engines are offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. As standard, Toyota offers the Fortuner as a rear-wheel-drive vehicle. Only the diesel engine is offered with a 4×4 drivetrain.

Toyota Hilux

According to the rumours, Toyota will be launching its Hilux pick-up truck in the Indian market in January 2022. The Hilux shares a lot of parts and components with the Fortuner. It is based on the same platform, uses the same platform and even some of the cabin parts such as seats can be the same as the Fortuner. The only competitor to Hilux will be Isuzu D-Max V-Cross which costs less than the Hilux.
