Toyota Fortuner with off-road kit; Would you buy it?

Toyota Fortuner is the best selling full-size SUV in the Indian market. With the Ford Endeavour now being discontinued, the Fortuner is now unbeatable. Yes, you do have the MG Gloster but it just does not match the sales numbers that the Fortuner is pulling. Here, we have a rendering of the Fortuner that has been fitted with an off-road kit.

The pictures have been uploaded on Instagram by ‘trillionerakash’. The artist has made a digital render in which he has imagined Toyota Fortuner as a rugged SUV with an off-road kit. He calls it “Toyota Fortuner Darker” probably because of the paint scheme.

In the renders, we can see that the Fortuner is finished in a nice shade of metallic black. There are red accents on the outside rearview mirror and roof rack that adds to the character. There are auxiliary lights placed on the front that will help in lighting up the front of the SUV while doing off-roading during the nighttime.

On the roof, there are four small LED lights placed that will increase the visibility and a roof rack has been placed on top that will come in handy in storing bags and jerry cans. On the sides, there are two individual side steps for the front occupants and the rear occupants. Usually, we see a long-running board as the sidestep. Well, that is not the case here. There are different blacked-out alloy wheels that are wrapped in off-road spec tyres. The tyres are much wider and taller than the regular tyres of the Fortuner.

The front has been revised heavily. It gets a lot more aggressive even than the Legender version of the Fortuner.  The headlamps get a smoked effect, and the grille and the Toyota logo are finished in piano-black. The bumper is very aggressive and gives a menacing stance to the SUV. There is also a skid plate that will help in protecting the mechanical components.

It is important to note that this is just an imagination of the artist. Toyota has not announced any official off-road spec version of Fortuner neither they have announced a new Dark paint scheme. However, the manufacturer has launched the new Hilux pick-up truck in the Indian market. It starts at Rs. 33.99 lakhs ex-showroom.
