Toyota India launched the new Glanza in the Indian market recently. The rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is made in the Maruti’s Gujarat plant alongside the Balneo and last month, Toyota started dispatching the new product to various dealerships across India too. Last month, Toyota dispatched as many 2,142 units to its dealership network across India. The cars dispatched by the manufacturer are for sale, display and test drive purpose.

According to CarDekho, the demand for the Toyota Glanza has pushed it to the waiting period of almost a month in cities like Pune, Patna and Coimbatore. That’s the maximum waiting time for the Glanza. In most other cities like New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Surat, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Indore and Noida, there is no waiting period on the car. While there is a minimum waiting period 15-20 days in all other cities like Chandigarh, Mumbai, Jaipur and Thane.

In the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is a high-in-demand vehicle and has a maximum waiting period of 45 days in cities like Patna, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Jaipur Chennai and Chennai. There are many cities like New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Surat, Ghaziabad, where the Baleno is readily available in the market.

Even rivals like the Hyundai Elite i20, which is currently the second-best selling premium hatchback in the market gets a maximum waiting time of 20 days in Faridabad, Gurugram, Ahmedabad and Lucknow. In the rest of the cities, the waiting period ranges from a week to 15 days only. The Honda Jazz gets a maximum waiting period of 1 month days in Chennai while the rest of the cities have a maximum waiting period of 25 days. The Volkswagen Polo is readily available throughout the country with a maximum waiting period of 7 days. However, in Patna, the customers will have to wait for 21 days after making a booking to get the hatchback.

The Toyota Glanza is available only with the petrol engine options in the market. It gets powered by the same 1.2-litre VVT and 1.2-litre DualJet engine options with mild-hybrid technology. Toyota also offers CVT transmission as an option with the Glanza. Both Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Toyota Glanza are identical except for the standard warranty offered by Toyota. The Glanza comes with a standard 3 years/1 lakh km warranty against 2 year/40,000 km warranty offered by Maruti Suzuki on the Baleno.
