Toyota has just launched its premium hatchback, the Glanza, in the Indian market. The car is the exact same vehicle as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno save for the front grille and badging. It will be made by Maruti Suzuki only at their Gujrat plant. The prices of this newly launched car start at Rs. 7,21,990 for the base G MT variant while the top V CVT variant is priced at Rs. 8,90,200. Toyota is also offering several types of accessories with the Glanza for the customers who are interested in customising their cars.
The accessories available for the Glanza range from chrome bumper protectors and black body mouldings to seat cushions and custom floor mats. These accessories are similar to those offered on the Baleno but that doesn’t come as a surprise. After all, the whole car is the same as the Baleno.
Talking about the different types of accessories for the exterior body of the Glanza, this includes black side protection mold which gives a rugged look to the car. Then comes the bumper corner protectors along with rear door garnish and door visors. A bespoke car cover is also available for purchase with the Glanza. Toyota is also offering door scuff plates and mudguards with the Glanza.
Coming to the interiors, Toyota is offering several accessory options here also. This includes custom car cushions, floor mats, trunk mat and several types of seat covers. Talking about seat covers, a total of 13 options are available to choose from. The floor mats have red stitching which looks sporty and enhances the cabin appeal. There are two interiors styling kits with options of either Blue or Wood. Choosing any of these two will result in similar coloured bits and pieces across the cabin and centre dashboard.
Toyota is also offering a glist grey aero kit, which essentially is a body kit to make the car look more rugged. The front and the rear bumper get some enhancements in this body kit while the side gets equipped with skirts. The whole kit has a dark grey colour which makes the car look quite different from the regular examples.
The Toyota Glanza comes with two petrol engines, both of which are 1.2-litre petrol units from Maruti Suzuki. The 1.2-litre petrol churns out 82 Bhp of power along with 112 Nm of torque. The second engine option is the 1.2-litre, K12C DualJet engine with a mild-hybrid system. This engine produces 89 Bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. This engine, however, is only available on the G trim variants. Both the engines get a 5-speed manual transmission with the non-hybrid engine getting a CVT box too. As for the fuel efficiency figures, the V MT delivers 21.01 km/l, the G MT (Hybrid) variant delivers 23.87 km/l and the G CVT/V CVT variants deliver 19.56 km/l.
