This Service Express is an addition to the already existing mobile service vans which provide Toyota customers with roadside assistance on break-downs and minor repairs. The new Express service is capable of providing all minor, medium and major periodical services at customer’s doorstep.

Apart from regular maintenance and beautification services Toyota also plans to provide minor body-paint jobs under this easy access servicing experience.

Special trucks are designed for this purpose which will go to a customer’s home/office or any other convenient location. A team of specially trained mechanics would handle the cars at the location. The service would include scheduled maintenance of Toyota cars and other basic services.

At present the manufacturer initiative covers the remote areas of Rajasthan, where according to brand has received positive feedback from customers for this new express service experience. Toyota plans to expand this service to many more regions on a phase-wise manner.

N Raja, deputy managing director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, commenting on this new service offering said,

Our aim is to limit the constraints of fixed location set-up of car servicing with ‘Quick Service’ offers at customers’ doorsteps, bringing the best-in-class service experience even closer with these ‘On-wheels’ touch-points.

This kind of initiative was earlier to be seen only with luxury car and bike manufacturers. This initiative would indeed add convenience to Toyota car owners by bringing in best-in class service experience closer to Toyota customers with mobile service stations.

It’s important to note that Toyota has rolled out a full fledged service truck for the service-at-home initiative. This truck will also have an used engine oil collection tank, thereby ensuring that used engine oil is disposed safely. Other service essentials will also be recycled by Toyota.

Currently, the Japanese automaker sells the Liva, Etios, Innova Crysta, Corolla Altis and the Fortuner models in the mass market car segments. All these cars will be eligible for the doorstep service initiative from Toyota. With this latest initiative, Toyota now joins market leader Maruti Suzuki, who has been running a doorstep car service program for the past couple of years.
