In order to expand its line-up and further increase its sales the Indo-Japanese automaker Toyota Kirloskar Motor will reportedly be launching new base variants for it newly launched MPV the Innova Hycross. The company is planning to launch new base variants for the model in both petrol and hybrid drivetrain options. Additionally the company will also offer these new base variants in both 7 and 8 configurations.
According to a report by Autocar India, Toyota Kirloskar Motor will also be offering the new Innova Hycross to the fleet owners in the country. Reports have suggested that company will be offering the fleet owners the Hycross in three variants. The first will be the base models which as of now does not has a name. Furthermore it will also offer the VX and ZX variants as well. All of these three models will come in both 7 and 8 seater configurations.
As it stands, Toyota currently offers the newly launched Innova Hycross in 5 variants. These variants are G, GX, VX, ZX and ZX(O). Except for the ZX and ZX(O) all of these variants are offered with both 7 and seater configurations, meanwhile these two top-of-the-line variants come in only 7 seater configuration. As for the powertrain side of things the first two variants of the entire lineup come available with pure petrol powerplants, while all the other three variants come available with a strong petrol hybrid drivetrain.
As for the specific outputs the strong hybrid version of Innova Hycross is available with a 2.0 litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor. This set up generates a combined power output of Rs 183 Ps. The strong hybrid version has a claimed fuel economy of 23.24 kmpl which is highest in its segment.
Additionally, the pure petrol iteration also makes use of a 2.0 litre petrol engine that generates 171 Ps and it has a claimed economy of 16.13 kmpl. The standard petrol version is paired with a CVT transmission and the strong hybrid version is paired with an e-CVT gearbox. Toyota does not offer a manual gearbox with the Innova Hycross. There is no diesel engine on offer as well. Toyota however still offers Innova Crysta diesel in the market. The Innova Crysta diesel was relaunched in the market recently and it is available with a manual transmission only.
Toyota Innova Hycross is available in Super White, Platinum White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Sparkling Black Pearl Crystal Shine, Avant Grade Bronze Metallic and an exciting new color Blackish Ageha Glass Flake. Toyota Innova Hycross is based on Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). It is a monocoque MPV while the Innova Crysta is a ladder-on-frame MPV.
The Innova HyCross is a lot more premium in terms of looks and features when compared to Innova Crysta. Toyota Innova Hycross offers features like floating 10 inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery, front ventilated seats, ambient lights, panoramic sunroof, multi-function steering wheel and so on. Toyota is also offering ADAS. It is the first Toyota in India to get this feature.
As for the pricing the Innova Hycross is priced between Rs 18.30 lakh-19.20 lakh for the petrol versions, while the hybrid is priced between Rs 24.01 lakh-28.97 lakh. And now with the addition of a newer base variant the price is expected to go down a little.
