Innova Hycross GX(O) variant launched

Toyota Innova is one of the most popular MPVs in the Indian market. The new generation Innova Hycross, which was launched a few years ago, is no different. The Innova Hycross is available in petrol and strong hybrid versions. The Japanese car manufacturer has now introduced a new variant, GX(O), for the Innova Hycross at Rs 20.99 lakh. The MPV is offered in both 7 and 8-seater configurations.

The petrol version of the Innova Hycross was offered with G and GX variants. The newly introduced GX(O) variant actually offers slightly more features than the previously mentioned variants. The 7-seater version of the Innova Hycross petrol is priced at Rs 21.13 lakh, ex-showroom, and the 8-seater version is priced at Rs 20.99 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Toyota Innova Hycross GX(O) is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lamps, a roof-mounted spoiler with an LED stop lamp, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators. In addition to these additions on the exterior, the Innova Hycross GX(O) variant also offers a chestnut-themed interior with soft-touch leatherette material on the dashboard and door pads.

The premium MPV also comes with a rear sunshade, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, and more.

Toyota is also offering rear parking sensors, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, disc brakes on all four wheels, 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seats, and more. The Toyota Innova Hycross is leaps ahead of the previous generation MPV. It is an all-new MPV that is based on the new Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). It is a monocoque MPV, while the Innova Crysta was a ladder-on-frame MPV.

When compared to the Innova Crysta, which is still available for sale with a diesel engine in the market, the new Innova Hycross is way more premium and spacious. Coming to the engine options, the petrol-only variant of the Innova Hycross is powered by a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 171 PS and 205 Nm of peak torque. The newly introduced GX(O) variant of the Innova Hycross is available with a CVT gearbox option only.

Toyota does not offer a manual with the Innova Hycross in any of the variants. If you are looking for a diesel manual MPV, then you can opt for the Innova Crysta. Other than the petrol engine, Toyota also offers a strong hybrid engine option with the Innova Hycross. This strong hybrid version also uses a 2.0-liter petrol engine but works along with an electric motor, which powers the vehicle. The strong hybrid can be used as an EV, ICE, or a combination of both. It is mated to an e-CVT gearbox.

As the Toyota Innova has been a popular name among buyers (both personal and commercial), the waiting period for the MPV has gone up tremendously. As of today, the Innova Hycross has a maximum waiting period of up to 6 months, depending on the variants. The waiting period for the strong hybrid variant is even higher.

We recently came across a video where the waiting period for the base variant, Toyota HyRyder, was listed as 7 years. Recently, Toyota resumed bookings for the Innova Hycross ZX and ZX(O) variants. In addition to this, the company has also hiked the pricing of the top-spec ZX and ZX(O) variants.
