The Toyota Innova Hycross is the newest premium MPV from Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese automotive giant Toyota. The Hycross variant combines the reliability and spaciousness of the age-old Innova moniker with the fuel efficiency and eco-friendliness of a hybrid powertrain. It offers a comfortable and practical driving experience, making it a preferred choice for both families and businesses. As a result, the car is witnessing tremendous demand in the country. The model has gained such popularity that it currently has a waiting period of up to 2 years. The demand is mostly for the top-spec variants, while the lower trims have shorter waiting periods. For this reason, many people are buying base variants and customizing them to resemble the top-spec models.
The images from AutoRounders feature the interior transformation of the Innova Hycross. The shop is well-known for its conversion work on some of the most popular cars in the country, including the Toyota Innova and Fortuner, among others. Additionally, the shop specializes in upholstery work and offers interior upgrades. In this recent video, the shop owner introduces a silver Innova Hycross and mentions that it has come to their shop for a complete interior makeover. He starts by discussing the demand for the Innova Hycross in the country and mentions its 2-year waiting period.
Following this, he states that the owner of this particular Innova wanted the interior of his new car to resemble the top-spec variants. He adds that they will finish the interior in a tri-tone theme, incorporating black, cream, and tan colors. He mentions that the seats will be finished in cream and tan, while the dashboard will be finished in tan and black.
The shop owner then explains that the top portion of the door cards will be painted, while the lower part will be wrapped with leatherette material. Furthermore, he mentions that all the matte black trims on the interior will be finished in high gloss black as well. After the introduction, the car is shown undergoing the process, and finally, the completed interior is revealed.
As mentioned earlier, the Toyota Innova HyCross is one of the most popular premium MPVs in the country. It is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor. The hybrid powertrain is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Additionally, the hybrid variants are equipped with a 5th Generation Self-Charging Strong Hybrid Electric System with TNGA 2.0-Litre 4-cylinder VVTi petrol engine. The car is equipped with a 1.7 kWh Ni-MH battery that powers the electric motor. The Innova HyCross feels responsive, and the hybrid system operates smoothly with small increments in speed. While the acceleration of the HyCross is linear, it cannot be considered slow for a hybrid.
