Toyota officially unveiled the all-new Innova Hycross MPV in India today. The bookings for this new MPV have also started and the deliveries would start in January next year. Price for the new Innova Hycross is also expected to be announced in January 2023. Toyota had unveiled the Hycross in Indonesian market before and it is known as Zenyx there. There are several things that make Innova Hycross different from the outgoing Innova Crysta. Here we have a video that shows how the new Innova Hycross looks right next to the Innova Crysta MPV.
The video has been uploaded by Deepak Verma on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger has however added an image that shows Innova Crysta parked next to the Hycross. Both MPVs looks entirely different in terms of looks. While the Crysta had more of an MPV looks, the Hycross with its upright grille and raised bonnet looks more like an SUV. The design of the Hycross looks more modern than the Crysta and does not resemble the previous version. It is a generation change and the Hycross does look like a brand new vehicle.

In terms of size, Toyota Hycross is 4,755 mm long and 1,850 mm wide. This is slightly more than the Innova Crysta. Innova Crysta had a premium look on the road but, we feel that the Hycross will offer more of an imposing look because of its SUV like design. The Innova Crysta and Hycross both have the same height but, the wheelbase of Innova Hycross is 100 mm more than the older Crysta.
Coming to the exterior design, the Hycross gets hexagonal front grille. The design of the grille on Crysta is slightly different. The bumper looks more bold and muscular on the Hycross while the bumper looks bulky on the crysta. The headlamps are sleeker looking units on the Hycross and they come with all LED lights in it. Innova Crysta gets projector units. Coming to the side profile, the Hycross starts looking like an MPV here. At the rear, the Innova Hycross gets a design which might remind some of you about SUVs like RAV4 that are sold by Toyota internationally. However, Innova Crysta has an identity on its own.
Toyota Innova Hycross is not a ladder-on-frame MPV anymore. It uses a monocoque chassis based on Toyota’s TNGA-C platform. When compared to Innova Crysta, Hycross is way more advaned and offers a plush looking cabin with several features. Toyota will be offering Hycross in five variants and the higher variants will come with features like panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, ambient lights, automatic climate control, paddle shifters, powered tailgate, JBL audio system, floating touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster and so on. Toyota is offering a premium looking interior with ottoman function for second row captain seats.
Toyota will also be offering ADAS features with Innova Hycross. This is Toyota’s first product to get this feature in India. Toyota calls it Toyota Safety Sense. It offers features like Adaptive cruise control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind spot monitor, Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear cross-traffic alet and so on. Toyota will be offering 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction contorl and ESP.
In terms of engine and transmission. Toyota will be offering Hycross with a regular petrol and a strong hybrid petrol engine. No diesel engine option will be offered with the new gen Innova Hycross. There are no manual gearbox options available with the MPV. The regular version uses a 2.0 litre naturally aspirated engine that is paired with a CVT gearbox. It generates 174 Ps and 197 Nm of peak torque. The car hybrid version makes a combined power output of 186 Ps and is mated to an e-CVT.
