The Toyota Innova Type 1 gained immense popularity due to its versatility, reliability, and spaciousness. With its comfortable seating capacity and robust performance, it quickly became a favorite among families and businesses alike. Even years later, many models from this generation are still running strongly, and their owners refuse to let them die. To breathe new life into their trusty old first-gen models, these owners are now opting to restore them through facelifts. A recent YouTube video showcases the transformation of a severely dilapidated Type 1 Toyota Innova into a beautiful Type 4 model, both on the exterior and interior.

The video, shared on the Autorounders YouTube channel, features the restoration of the Toyota Innova. Autorounders is one of the most popular autobody shops in the country, gaining fame for sharing similar transformation videos. They specialize in converting Toyota Innovas and Fortuners, as well as other popular models in the country. With shops in Pune, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, this particular conversion took place at their Pune branch. The video starts with before shots of a red Type 1 Toyota Innova.

The owner of the shop introduces the vehicle in the video and mentions that this particular MPV traveled all the way from Karnataka to their Pune workshop. He provides a walkaround of the car, highlighting its flaws and listing the improvements they will be making. Firstly, he shows the front of the car, emphasizing its extremely poor condition with massive dents and damages. The broken front grille, bumpers, and scratched doors are showcased. Moving to the side, he explains that they usually avoid working on vehicles with such extensive damage due to the labor-intensive nature and the associated costs.

However, they accepted this particular vehicle despite its condition because the owner sent it all the way from Karnataka to Pune. The video displays the rear right fender, which appears heavily damaged, possibly from a severe collision. The rear tailgate is also shown, in an even worse condition. The owner highlights that he suggested replacing the rear tailgate due to the significant time and cost involved.

Next, the interior of the car is revealed, presented in an appalling state. The owner explains that changing seat covers on a brand new car is simple, but rebuilding a destroyed interior like this one is a challenging task. However, with their experienced technicians who have worked in the industry for 25 years, they can easily undertake this restoration. The car then moves to the disassembly area, where all the damaged parts are stripped off.

The process continues with dent removal, followed by filling and sanding with putty to achieve a smooth surface for the primer. The car enters the paint booth and receives a sporty red shade. Subsequently, the video showcases the fully reassembled car, including the interior, which has been completely reupholstered with black and dark tan leather. The owner also highlights that the client wanted to replace the middle bench seat with two captain’s seats and requested a custom baby seat for the middle, which the shop successfully provided. Overall, the car becomes unrecognizable after the transformation.
