Toyota launches Camry Hybrid at Rs. 41.7 lakhs ex-showroom

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the new facelift of the Camry Hybrid in the Indian market. It has been priced at Rs. 41.7 lakhs ex-showroom. The Japanese manufacturer has made some cosmetic changes and has added some new features to the Camry. Mechanically, it stays the same. The bookings of the Camry facelift have already started and customers can book it through Toyota’s website or by visiting the dealership.

On the exterior, the upgrades include a new front bumper that now mimics the design of the new grille that Toyota is using. There are newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels that give a sporty appeal to the Camry. At the rear, the tail lamp design is the same but the LED elements have been redesigned. A new exterior colour has also been added by Toyota. The new colour is called Metal Stream Metallic. There are also other colours such as Platinum White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Graphite Metallic, Red Mica, Attitude Black, and Burning Black.

There have been some changes to the interior as well. Toyota has added a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It comes connected to a JBL sourced 9 speaker system. The instrument cluster is now finished with a new wood effect.

Since its introduction in 2013, the Camry Hybrid is well established in the Indian market and is a testament to Toyota’s unwavering efforts towards a carbon neutral environment.”

There are no changes to the powertrain of the Camry. So, it continues to come with a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 178 hp of max power. There is also a  permanent magnet synchronous motor that is capable of producing 120 hp. So, the total power output is 218 hp. Camry uses an e-CVT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.

There are three driving modes on offer, namely Eco, Sport and Normal. Toyota offers a warranty of  8 years or 1,60,000 kilometres on the battery of Camry.

For safety Toyota offers 9 airbags, hill start assist, electronic parking brake, rear parking camera with dynamic guidelines, rear parking sensors, traction control, stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system and much more.

Camry comes with quite a bit of equipment. There is an electrically operated rear sunshade, dual-zone climate control, wireless charger, three-zone climate control, ventilated seats, multi-function steering wheel, electronically adjustable steering wheel with memory function, reclinable rear seats, a multi-information display and much more.
