Maruti Fronx-Based Toyota Taisor, And Brezza-Based Raize: What They Could Look Like

Toyota Taisor featured

Japanese automotive giant Toyota Kirloskar Motor India has already trademarked two names in India. The first is Raize, and the second is Taisor. These names are likely to be utilized for the upcoming rebadged Brezza and Fronx, both which will be launched here. Recently, two renders showing what these upcoming SUVs could look like have been shared online. The renders give us an idea of what we can expect from Toyota in the coming months.

Toyota Taisor rendering

Maruti Fronx-Based Toyota Taisor, And Brezza-Based Raize: What They Could Look Like

The Maruti Fronx-based Toyota Taisor compact crossover is due for launch next month. The company filed its patent back in 2019, and it is also on the launch schedule. Talking about the design of the new crossover, like all the other badge-engineered models, the upcoming Taisor will boast a different front-end design to differentiate itself from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.

From the render, we can note that it gets a new front grille, a new front bumper, and a set of new LED headlights. Apart from this, most likely, the production Toyota Taisor, just like this rendered version, will get a set of new alloy wheels.

In terms of the powertrain and underpinnings, they will remain exactly the same as the Maruti Fronx. Toyota will offer the Taisor with a 1.2-litre 90 PS naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options.

The Toyota Taisor will also get the 1.0-litre 100 PS turbocharged petrol engine. This engine, currently in the Fronx, comes with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options. Toyota is also expected to offer CNG variants based on the 1.2-litre petrol engine, similar to the Fronx.

Toyota Taisor launch date

Coming to the launch date of the new Toyota Taisor, it has been reported that it will be launched on April 3, 2024. We can expect the Taisor to be priced in the same range of Rs 7.5 to 14 lakh. However, there could be a premium for that Toyota badge.

Toyota Raize rendering

Both these renderings come courtesy of Motorbeam. The Raize will be based on the already-on-sale Maruti Suzuki Brezza sub-compact SUV. This new SUV from Toyota will be a result of the long-term partnership between the two brands.

Both Maruti Suzuki and Toyota Kirloskar have launched several models over the years. From the render, we can note that the SUV has taken inspiration from the Toyota Fortuner Legender. This inspiration can be noted at the front, as both get a similar high-gloss black grille.

The lower front bumper has been tweaked a little to make it appear different from that of the Maruti Brezza. Meanwhile, there is a set of different-looking alloy wheels. Most likely, the company will be launching this vehicle in the coming festive season as the demand for the Brezza is already very high. So, accommodating the Raize may be hard currently. In a few months though, sufficient inventory of the new SUV could be built at Toyota’s end prior to launch.
