Toyota and Maruti Suzuki are in a partnership and we all know that both manufacturers will be sharing some of their models and technologies in our market. First product to come out of this partnership was Toyota Glanza which was basically a re-badged version of the premium hatchback Baleno. Toyota is now all set to launch the second product which is an SUV in the market. It will be known as Urban Cruiser and is the re-badged version of Maruti popular compact SUV Brezza. Toyota has now announced that they will be starting to accept bookings for their upcoming SUV.
Toyota will start taking booking for the new Urban Cruiser SUV from 22 August 2020. Booking amount for the Urban Cruiser is Rs 11,000 and interested buyers can go ahead and make the payment by directly visiting the nearest Toyota dealership or online at www.toyotabharat.com. When launched, Urban Cruiser will the cheapest SUV sold by Toyota in India. Even though it is a rebadged version of Brezza, Toyota has tried to make some minor changes to give it a signature Toyota look.
The front grille is where most of the cosmetic changes have been done. It will get a front grille that will come with chrome strips on left and right end. The headlamp design will remain the same and will get twin projector LED lamps with dual function LED DRLs. The Toyota Urban Cruiser will come with a variety of colour options in dual tone including a unique brown colour. It will also get a 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels. Apart from that everything else is expected to remain the same as Brezza.

Sharing his thoughts on the opening of bookings, Mr. Naveen Soni, Senior Vice President, Sales and Services, TKM, said,
We are very excited about our latest offering- the Urban Cruiser, as it has already started receiving a lot of attention & enquiries from interested customers. We understand that our customers would like to know more about the new vehicle from Toyota, so that they can make an informed decision about the vehicle of their choice, this festive season. Hence, we wanted to further aid our customers with more information about the car before opening our bookings.
Toyota’s Urban Cruiser will be available with a petrol engine only. It will be using 1.5 litre naturally aspirated K-series petrol unit. It is the same engine that we have seen in Brezza 2020 as well. The engine will get both manual and automatic gearbox options and the automatic version will also get Smart Hybrid technology which will make it more fuel efficient that manual version. Toyota will be launching the new Urban Cruiser SUV in the market on 22 September 2020.
