Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder ownership experience after 1 month [Video]

While the deliveries of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder have already started, the Japanese carmaker is hoping for the best with the all-new midsize SUV. Considering the increasing popularity of compact and midsize SUVs among buyers, including first-time car buyers, Toyota has high hopes for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

Even people are showering their love and trust on the Toyota badge and have started buying the SUV for Toyota’s traditional virtues of quality and reliability. Here’s one such owner of the new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, who has shared details and buying experience of his new SUV.

In a YouTube video from the channel Motor Hype Studioz, the presenter explains the features and the buying experience of his new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The presenter has purchased a white-coloured S variant of the strong-hybrid version of the SUV, which is the most affordable variant in the petrol+electric strong-hybrid version.

In the video, the presenter explains that Toyota’s belief in offering quality and reliable products made him consider the Urban Cruiser Hyryder above the other SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in this segment. He also said that he booked this SUV without even seeing it, just because it was coming with a Toyota badge on it.

The owner then explains the features and design of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder S strong-hybrid version which he purchased. At the front, this particular variant comes equipped with split projector headlamps, daytime running LEDs, and chrome accents on the gloss black grille and sides of the air dam. This variant also comes with front and rear silver skid plates, 17-inch steel wheels with wheel caps, and chrome garnish on the boot lid between the LED tail lamps.

The owner also gives a glimpse of his Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder S strong-hybrid version, which gets a full-TFT 7-inch instrument console and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The other features of the SUV, which are visible in the video include a multi-functional steering wheel with cruise control, automatic climate control, push start-stop button and fabric seats with a 60:40 split pattern for the rear seats. Since it is a lower-spec variant, it misses out on many feel-good features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats and wireless charging.

The powertrain of this particular variant of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is a combination of a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, an electric motor and a 177.6V lithium-ion battery. The combined power output of this powertrain combination is 118 PS, while it claims a segment-leading fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl, though the presenter is claiming that he has achieved 28.7 kmpl fuel efficiency.
