The dispatch figures of September 2019 show that Toyota has officially dispatched two Vellfire MPVs to the dealerships in India. The exact dealerships that have received the new Vellfire MPVs are not known but it is highly likely the vehicle will be showcased in various showrooms across India ahead of the official launch, which is expected to happen within weeks from now.

The Toyota Vellfire is yet to be launched in India and the price is yet to be announced. However, it is expected to take on the Mercedes-Benz V-Class, which was launched in the Indian market a few months ago. The Toyota Vellfire, however, will get a higher price tag when compared to the V-Class. Currently, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class gets a price tag of around Rs 68.5 lakhs, ex-showroom. The Toyota Vellfire will be priced at around Rs 75 lakhs in the market.
Since it will be a completely built unit (CBU) there will be no need to homologate the vehicles. The Indian government said that according to the new rules, any car model that is selling lesser than 2,500 units in a year in India will not require any homologation.
The all-new Toyota Vellfire will cater to the premium customers and will target celebrities too. It should be noted that the premium brand of Toyota, the Lexus was launched in the Indian market sometime back and it has received decent feedback from the market. The all-new Vellfire, which a price tag close to Rs 1 crore will surely attract a lot of customers, especially because of the brand value and reliability of Toyota vehicles. The Toyota Vellfire is extremely luxurious and offers a range of features that are unique to the vehicle. It is also very spacious and extremely comfortable in the long-distance journeys.
The Toyota Vellfire will be launched only with a petrol engine. However, it will get the hybrid option that will ensure that the Vellfire will return an excellent fuel efficiency with the smoothness of a petrol engine. The Indian version of Toyota Vellfire will get powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 150 PS, the electric motor of the vehicle generates another 143 PS. Combined, the vehicle gets a maximum power of 197 PS. It gets the new-age eCVT transmission and features like 360-degree surround camera, 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment and other such features.
