Believe it or not, the Apache RR310 – a top-end sportsbike from TVS Motors, is being used as a food delivery vehicle in Bangalore. The sportsbike was launched late last year, at a price of Rs. 2.05 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. Prices have now increased to Rs. 2.15 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi.
Since it costs so much, the TVS Apache RR310 is probably the most expensive food delivery motorcycle in India. Still can’t believe it? You must watch the video of the Apache 310 in food-delivery mode for yourself.
Interestingly, the Apache 310 used by the food delivery boys in Bangalore uses a commercial registration that’s meant for self-ride/drive vehicles. What this means is the commercial registration of the Apache 310 is now on, and soon many self-ride motorcycle rentals across India should have this motorcycle in their fleets.
TVS Motors is yet to ramp up production of the Apache RR 310, and this is resulting in long waiting lists for this high-performance motorcycle. The two wheeler giant from Hosur is grappling with limited production capacity and heavy demand for this motorcycle.
The Apache 310 is TVS Motors’ flagship model, and has technology derived from the TVS Motors-BMW Motorrad collaboration. The motorcycle features a 313cc, four stroke engine with a unique, reverse inclined design for better mass centralization. The engine features liquid cooling, a four valve head and fuel injection.
It makes 34 Bhp of peak power and 28 Nm of peak torque. A 6 speed manual gearbox is standard. The bike uses upside down front forks and a monoshock rear for suspension. Disc brakes on both wheels are standard, and so is dual channel ABS.
The TVS Apache RR310 is a cheaper alternative to the KTM RC390 but after the price hike is now very close to the RC in terms of pricing. TVS Motors hopes to sell about 10,000 units of the Apache RR310 in India during the first year of production. The motorcycle will also be exported to markets around the world.
