Shahid Kapoor super IMPRESSED with the TVS Apache-based BMW G 310R

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor was recently in news for buying a Ducati Scrambler 1100. The Italian motorcycle is one of the best factories made scrambler style motorcycles across the world. Now, it seems that the actor has is looking for something smaller and less wild which can be used in the infamous Mumbai traffic. In a recent Instagram post, the actor posed atop a BMW G 310R motorcycle. It is the most affordable motorcycle by BMW in India and was launched last year. The Instagram post by Shahid read:

However, it is not yet known whether the actor has bought the bike or just took it out for a test ride spin. Shahid is known for his love for cars and bikes and his garage contains several big names of the automotive industry. The bike used by Shahid carries the Style HP paint scheme, which is also called pearl white metallic and is one of the most popular colours available on the bike. The G 310R has another twin which is the G 310GS. The BMW G 310GS is an adventure tourer themed motorcycle. Both these bikes share their engine and chassis with the most powerful bike from TVS stable, the Apache RR310.

Talking about the bike, the BMW G 310R is powered by a 313cc, single-cylinder, water-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 33.6 Bhp and peak torque of 28 Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission and the bike get disc brakes on both the wheels. The front one is 300mm, 4-piston fixed calliper set-up while the rear disc brake is 240mm, single-piston floating calliper. Both the bikes get standard dual channel ABS. Both the bikes get upside down 41mm front fork but its twin G 310GS gets longer travel. The bike looks pretty good and is designed as a naked city smart bike with typical BMW design DNA.

BMW has priced the G 310R at Rs. 2.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Compared to the competition, the price of the G 310R is quite high and this is probably one of the reasons why the bike has not seen many takers till now. However, the bike is pretty good and comes with the typical BMW build quality and refinement.

As for Shahid, the actor has no dearth of cars and bikes. But as it is said, a petrolhead is never satisfied with what he has. Therefore, it could be that the actor has bought the bike, though nothing is confirmed as of yet. Some time back, Cricketer Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh also bought the BMW G 310 GS and the G 310R respectively.
