As the video indicates, the TVS Apache RR 310 rockets off right from the start, and holds its own until the 160 Kmph mark, when the higher cubic capacity of the Royal Enfield Interceptor finally takes over and allows the motorcycle to come ahead. The motorcycle is one of the best looking sub-Rs. 3 lakh offerings in India, and looks like a 600cc bike while standing still. It’s got the big bike vibe, and this is a major selling point of the Apache RR 310, of course apart from the fairing it’s offered with. Talking power and torque numbers, the Apache RR 310 has 34 Bhp-27.3 Nm outputs produced high in the rev range, at 9,700 rpm and 7,700 rpm respectively. The single cylinder engine is paired to a six speed manual gearbox with slipper clutch, is liquid cooled and fuel injected and gets a four valve-DOHC head. The Interceptor on the other hand gets a 647cc twin cylinder four stroke motor with a 270 degree crank, 4 valve head, a single overhead camshaft and a 6 speed manual gearbox with a slipper clutch as standard. The Interceptor’s 650cc motor makes 47 Bhp and 52 Nm, lower in the rev range at 7,250 rpm and 5,250 rpm respectively. The Interceptor 650 is priced at Rs. 2.37 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi while the Apache RR 310 sits at Rs. 2.27 lakhs.
