TVS has been spotted testing a new product that is expected to be launched in 2018. The two-wheeler seen here seems like the Dazz step-through that was spotted in Bengaluru. TVS showcased the Dazz scooter in the 2016 Auto Expo and TVS also sells the product in the South Eastern markets like Indonesia. The Dazz is available with both carburetted and fuel injected form in the markets it is available. However, the Indian product may not get the fuel injection to keep the cost low.
The Dazz is powered by a 110cc single-cylinder engine that is air-cooled. The engine produces a maximum power of 8.57 Bhp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm. There is a CVT unit, which is common in the automatic scooters.
The Dazz especially catches the eye with its unorthodox design. It gets 14-inch wheels, front telescopic suspension and a monoshock at the rear. The scooter also gets a 200mm disc brake set-up at the front and 130mm drum brake set-up at the rear. The scooter weighs only 93 kgs and offers quick acceleration. The Dazz is aimed at the youths and gets bold body graphics to attract the targeted audience.
TVS already has their best-selling Jupiter and Scooty Zest in the 110cc portfolio and the Dazz will further extend the choices for a customer. The scooter is likely to be priced between Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 60,000 in the market. We expect the scooter to be showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo and a launch date subsequently.
The growing scooter market in India is expected to get many new options in 2018. TVS is also planning to launch a new 125cc scooter to take on the recently launched Honda Grazia. The scooter is expected to be feature rich like the Grazia and launch is likely to take place in the first quarter of 2018.
