TVS Motor Company launched its first electric scooter in selected cities across the country sometime back. The manufacturer has now launched the iQube electric scooter in Pune, Maharashtra. The price of the scooter is Rs 1,10,898, on-road including FAME-II benefits.
With several manufacturers now launching electric scooters including Bajaj and Ather, TVS has decided to increase its footprint in the segment. Pune is the third city to get the iQube after Bangalore and Delhi.

With an on-road price of Rs 1.11 lakh, the iQube is quite affordable compared to the Bajaj Chetak EV, which gets a price tag of around Rs 1.4 lakh. Ather 450X, which is quite popular gets a price tag of Rs 1.42 lakh in the Pune circle. All the prices mentioned above includes FAME-II benefits. TVS has started accepting the bookings for the iQube officially through the website. The booking amount is Rs 5,000.
TVS iQube
The TVS iQube is a connected scooter and gets a long list of features. It is powered by a 4.4 kW electric motor, which is quite powerful and can make the scooter reach a maximum top speed of 78 km/h. There is a 2.25 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It is a fixed-type battery pack and cannot be removed. The TVS iQube gets two riding modes – Eco and Power. It can do 0 to 40 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.
According to the official claim, the TVS iQube can do 75 km on a full charge in Eco Mode. The charging time takes around 5 hours to reach 80% of the charge from 0. Charging it completely to 100 per cent takes 7 hours.
The scooter also gets a full TFT cluster that can be paired to the TVS iQube app. The instrument cluster offers geofencing, remote battery charge status, navigation assist, last parking location, incoming call alerts, SMS alerts among many other notifications. The app is available with Android and iOS.
There is a long list of features including Q-park assist, economy and power mode, day and night display system for better visibility of the instrument cluster, regenerative braking. TVS only offers the iQube with the white colour at the moment. Overall, it does look good with crystal-clear LED headlamps, all-LED tail lamps and an illuminated logo.
The iQube weighs 118 kg and offers 157mm of ground clearance. The scooter gets 12-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear. TVS offers a product warranty of 3 years or 30,000 km. The warranty on the lithium-ion battery is 3 years or 50,000 km.
The scooter gets a home charger system. It gets an RFID verified technology and the scooter can only be charged using the SmartXonnect app or RFID card, which will ensure that no unauthorized use of the charger.
