Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has recently unveiled the latest addition to their lineup, the new Jawa 350, in India, carrying a price tag of Rs. 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom). This revamped model, a more muscular version of the Jawa Standard, comes with an increased price of around Rs. 12,000.
The standout feature of the new Jawa 350 is its heart – a robust 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, a significant upgrade from the previous 294cc powerplant. This powerhouse churns out an impressive 22 Bhp and 28.2 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, complemented by an assist and slipper clutch, ensuring a smooth and powerful riding experience. This motor was first introduced on the Perak, and then made its way into the Bobber. Expect Classic Legends’ entire motorcycle range to get this motor in the months to come.
In terms of dimensions, the new Jawa 350 has undergone substantial changes. The ground clearance now stands at 178mm, a notable increase, and the seat height has been elevated to 790mm. The wheelbase has also been extended to 1,449mm. Comparatively, its predecessor had ground clearance, seat height, and wheelbase figures of 165mm, 765mm, and 1,368mm, respectively.
Accompanying these modifications is a weight gain, with the new model tipping the scales at 194 Lg, up from the previous 182 Kg. These transformations can be attributed to the incorporation of a new dual-cradle chassis. To enhance stability, the company has opted for wider tyres – 100/90 section at the front and 130/80 section at the rear, maintaining the 18-17-inch diameter.
The design of the Jawa 350 exhibits subtle yet impactful modifications. While maintaining its overall stance and silhouette, the motorcycle exudes a more robust appearance. The tyres sport a chunkier profile, both fenders boast increased prominence, and the seat appears to have a thicker foam. Additionally, the introduction of a new Mystique Orange paint scheme adds a fresh touch, alongside the retained Maroon and Black trims.
Competing in the market against formidable rivals like the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350, and the Benelli Imperiale 400, the Jawa 350 aims to carve its niche with the combination of enhanced performance, revamped design, and thoughtful feature upgrades. The battle for supremacy in the mid-range cruiser segment is intensifying, and the Jawa 350 has entered the arena with a more powerful stance, ready to take on its adversaries.
