Ford India will soon launch the Ford Figo Freestyle in the Indian market. Following the launch of the new crossover, Ford will launch the facelifted Figo and Figo Aspire too. The Figo was caught testing in India with heavy camouflage earlier. Now, a new picture of the upcoming vehicle has surfaced that shows the vehicle testing on the Indian roads without any disguise.
The vehicle caught testing on the Indian roads get the Ka+ badge, which is the name Figo gets in many international markets. Ford has already launched the updated Figo in the international markets and the new vehicle testing in India is a sign that Figo in India will get similar updates.
The new Ford Figo will get a new mesh styled front grille, a new bumper at front and rear, bigger headlamps, new alloy wheels and subtle styling changes. The same changes will be seen on the new Figo Aspire sedan too. On the inside, the vehicle will get new interiors similar to the updates we have seen on the Ford EcoSport. The car will get a new floating styled infotainment system that will get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, voice assist and commands, Ford apps and the emergency assist feature. The infotainment system will get the latest SYNC3 updates. The safety features include twin airbags and ABS as standard across all the variants. The top-end variant will get six airbags including side and curtain airbags.
The upcoming Figo will also get a new engine. There will new 1.2-litre petrol engine derived from 1.5-litre Dragon engine that made its debut in the facelifted EcoSport last year. The new 3-cylinder engine will get class-leading power output. It is expected that the engine will churn out around 95 Bhp – 120 Nm in the new vehicle. The diesel engine will remain the same. It will be the 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged unit with a maximum output of 99 Bhp and 205 Nm torque. Both the engines get a 5-speed manual transmission. Ford is also expected to add a new automatic transmission option with the upcoming car. We can expect to see the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission on the Figo, which is already available with the EcoSport.
Ford will launch the new Figo based Freestyle in April/May 2018. The launch of the Ford Figo facelift will happen around the mid-2018 and the prices are expected to remain similar to the current model.
