Upcoming 2018 Maruti Ciaz Facelift SPIED in silver colour

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), the most popular car manufacturer in India, is very close to launching the highly-awaited 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift. Last week, we came up with images of a completely uncamouflaged Ciaz facelift that had a ‘Nexa Blue’ paint scheme. Today, we have an image of a Ciaz facelift that dons the Metallic Silky Silver colour.

The 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift is very likely to command a slight premium over the pre-facelift. The updated sedan will be a stronger rival to the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Toyota Yaris. As you can see in the image we have above, the Ciaz facelift gets an updated front-end, which carries a sleeker grille that is flanked by chrome garnishing on its top and bottom, and an updated bumper. Even the headlamps have been updated and get LED DRLs. The new bumper has an edgy design and looks more aggressive than that of the current car. The side profile will remain largely unchanged. However, the current 15-inch alloy wheels on the Zeta trim are expected to be replaced with slightly different looking units. At the rear, the car will get a chrome garnish around its reflectors.

The interior will also get some significant updates. The faux wood trim of the current version will be replaced with a new one that has a lighter colour tone. The interior will also offer an updated instrument cluster that will feature updated dials and a larger MID. In most likelihood, this display will be a TFT unit. The steering wheel remains unchanged but the facelift will come with cruise control. The excellent Smartplay touchscreen infotainment unit on the Alpha trim will be retained.

The most important change will lie under the hood. The 1.4-litre petrol engine of the current model will be replaced with an all-new 1.5-litre motor that outputs a maximum power of 104 PS and a peak torque of 138 Nm. In comparison, the 1.4-litre petrol unit of the current car offers 92 PS and 130 Nm. Like the current engine, the new 1.5-litre unit will be available with two transmission options – 5-speed Manual and 4-speed Automatic. The facelift will not have a diesel engine option.
