Upcoming 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 150’s leaked images reveal it all!

Suzuki recently launched the new Gixxer SF and Gixxer SF 250 in India at cracking price points which has got everyone talking about them. To let you know, the Gixxer SF has been priced at Rs. 1.10 lakh, its bigger brother has been priced at Rs. 1.70 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi). While both of these bikes have aroused a lot of attention and curiosity form buyers, another major question that has been popping up of late is about the non-faired Gixxer bikes. Just a few days back, we told you how the naked version of the Gixxer 250 would look like and here we are today staring at the leaked images of the new, updated Gixxer 150.

Upcoming 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 150’s leaked images reveal it all!

This brochure image from Rushlane shows how the naked version of the bike would look like and we don’t have any complaints. It is almost the same as the Gixxer SF barring the full fairing at the front and a few other changes. The rims, tires, discs and other bits are exactly similar to the ones found on the faired version of this motorcycle. As is the case with the new Gixxer SF, the naked 150 cc Gixxer will also get full LED headlamp treatment which is certainly a good thing. As seen in the image above the headlamp unit looks quite stylish and gets silver a surround plastic ring around it.

The indicators and mirror stalks are placed at their usual positions while the fuel tank and the chrome-tipped exhaust canister are carried over from its faired sibling. Though the instrument cluster is not visible in this image, it will be the same fully digital unit that has been introduced on the faired version of the bike. The engine powering the bike will also be the same, as will be the power output. The Suzuki Gixxer SF gets powered by a 155 cc air-cooled engine that puts out 13.9 Bhp of power at 8,000 rpm along with 14 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and is a fuel-injected unit. The configuration is expected on the Gixxer as well.

ABS is now standard on all bikes at and above 125 cc displacement and hence the new Gixxer will come with ABS too. However, it will be a single channel unit in all likeliness as the Gixxer SF also gets a single channel ABS system. An advantage the Gixxer will have over its faired variant is that the former will weigh less than the latter due to the lack of fairings. The Gixxer SF weighs 146 kg, so expect the naked variant to tip the scales at around 140 kg which will result in marginally better performance.

The launch event of the Suzuki Gixxer is expected to happen in the coming months. It will be priced around Rs. 1 lakh sans taxes price mark taking into consideration the price of the Gixxer SF and the increment it had over the previous generation bike. When launched, it will rival the likes of the Yamaha FZ, Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 and Honda CB Hornet 160R among others in the segment.
