The upcoming Hyundai Santro (codenamed AH2) will hit the Indian market by August this year. The much-awaited car has been spied multiple times with heavy camouflage, but this is the first time that the interiors of the upcoming hatchback have been revealed through spy pictures.
The car will get a three-spoke steering wheel similar to the Grand i10. The steering wheel shows built-in buttons for controlling the infotainment system and Bluetooth telephony. However, these features will be exclusively available with the top-end variants of the car. The dashboard seems to be dual-coloured in a black-and-beige combination.
In the pictures, the door trims are in beige while the partially visible dashboard is in black. The gear-lever mount on the dashboard is expected to be the same in the Santro too. The car will get round AC vents and a touch-panel infotainment system too. The seats will get fixed headrests. Apart from that, the pictures also reveal bottle holders on the doors, and a small bottle can be seen too. The instrument cluster in the vehicle is in a 3-pod layout. Like all the other Hyundais, the Santro is expected to get a long list of features. All the other features will be officially revealed during the launch.
The upcoming car retains the tall-boy design that the Santro was famous for. It will be based on the discontinued i10 platform, and many exterior design elements look inspired by or similar to the i10. It will get large windows to ensure that the cabin feels airy.
The new Hyundai Santro or the AH2 is expected to get the 1.1-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine. The new engine produces a maximum of 68 Bhp and 100 Nm of peak torque. Hyundai will only offer the petrol engine with the Santro. The car is expected to get AMT automatic transmission too.
