Mahindra XUV300 Facelift featured

The sub-compact SUV segment is buzzing with excitement as all the major automakers are updating their products within it. Now, it has been reported that Mahindra Automotive, the largest utility vehicle manufacturer in India, is also gearing up for the launch of its sub-compact SUV XUV300 facelift. Recently, a test mule of this fully redesigned model was spotted testing on the road. Videos and pictures of the upcoming XUV300 facelift have been shared online by Motorbeam and Prateek Singh showing that the upcoming model draws huge inspiration from the highly anticipated Mahindra BE.05 EV SUV.

Exterior Design Updates

Rear End Redesign

From the first part of the video, it can be noted that it shows the fully covered rear end of the XUV300 facelift. From this shot, we can observe that the car will most likely get a fully redesigned rear bumper. It will also receive a set of newly designed LED taillights. One of the biggest highlights from the rear spy shot of this upcoming SUV is that it will come equipped with a full-length connected taillight. We have already seen this design in the Hyundai Venue’s facelift and the upcoming Tata Nexon facelift as well. Additionally, it has been reported that underneath the covers, more design changes have been made, which have been inspired by the Mahindra BE.05 EV SUV.

Front End Redesign

Moving on, the video then discusses the front-end design of this test mule. Just like the rear, the front end of this SUV’s test mule has also been concealed by a white cover. However, despite the cover, it can be observed that the biggest highlight of this front will be an all-new LED headlight pair. These headlights will house long strips of LED DRLs on their edges. These LED DRLs have also been directly inspired by the BE.05 electric SUV. Most likely, the front fender, bonnet, and bumper have also been designed to mimic the BE.05 SUV.

Side Profile Update

Following the front end, the video then discusses the side profile and the interior of the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 facelift. This new model will mostly be based on the outgoing model’s chassis, so there will be little to no changes to the side profile. The only noticeable change from the spy shots is the new alloy wheel design.

Interior Update

As for the interior, this is where the most significant amount of change will be seen after the exterior. From the pictures and the video, it can be noted that the entire dashboard has been changed. Other notable highlights from the interior are the all-new air conditioning vents with chrome surrounds and a larger touchscreen infotainment display. Additionally, it has also been reported in the video that the company could also be offering the new XUV300 with a panoramic sunroof. If the company does offer it, then it will become the first car in the sub-compact SUV segment to come with this feature.

Powertrains

Currently, there is no information about powertrain updates for the upcoming XUV300 facelift. However, most likely, the company will not be changing the outgoing powertrain options. Currently, the company offers the XUV300 with three engine options. The first is a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 108.62 BHP and 200 Nm of torque. Next up is a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine that produces 115.05 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. Lastly, there is a more performance-oriented 1.2-liter turbo-petrol TurboSport variant which produces 129 bhp and 230 Nm of torque.
