Just a few days after leaked images revealed the front grille design of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Engage MPV, the vehicle has been spotted during a trial run without any camouflage, showcasing the same grille. Several units of the Engage were seen within the premises of Maruti Suzuki’s production facility, confirming the earlier leaks that suggested the MPV would feature a hexagonal grille, reminiscent of other Maruti Suzuki NEXA models.
Among the units seen in the spy pictures from the production facility, a clear image of a white-colored Engage by MotorBeam can be observed with a distinct grille design. Unlike its base model, the Toyota Innova Hycross, the Engage’s front grille appears slightly different, with a thick chrome strip running through the middle and connecting the all-LED headlights on each end. Additionally, the grille is expected to have chrome surrounds, resembling the design of its NEXA siblings such as the XL6, Grand Vitara, and Fronx.

Apart from the grille, the Maruti Suzuki Engage shares a striking resemblance to the Toyota Innova Hycross, retaining similar front bumper corners, alloy wheels, and door panels. However, there are mild tweaks to the front bumper, with expectations of a faux silver skid plate. The rear profile is also anticipated to be mostly unchanged, with potential minor adjustments to the boot lid and tail lamps.
Cabin layout similar to Innova Hycross
The cabin layout and the list of comfort, convenience, and safety features in the Maruti Suzuki Engage are expected to mirror those found in the Toyota Innova Hycross. This means that the Engage will likely offer features such as ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a full-TFT instrument console.
Regarding powertrain options, the Maruti Suzuki Engage is likely to share the same choices as the Toyota Innova Hycross. The inclusion of the 2.0-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, paired with a CVT, is still under debate and will be confirmed closer to the launch date. However, it is highly probable that the Engage will feature the 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid powertrain from the Innova Hycross.
Maruti Suzuki has officially announced that the all-new Engage MPV will be launched on July 5th, as shared on their social media platforms. Once it hits the market, the Maruti Suzuki Engage will compete with vehicles such as the Toyota Innova Hycross, petrol-powered versions of the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar.
