Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars: New Celerio To 2022 Baleno

India’s biggest automobile manufacturer is working on a bunch of new vehicles. They will also be introducing CNG variants to quite a few vehicles in their line-up. Maruti Suzuki is also developing new SUVs and will be launching a new generation of their vehicles so that they can stay competitive with their rivals. Here are nine new vehicles that Maruti Suzuki is currently working on.

New-gen Celerio

Maruti Suzuki is working on an all-new generation of Celerio. It will launch during the festive season this year. Celerio will now use the Heartect platform so it should be a bit safer and the dimensions of the hatchback have also gone up. It will be offered only with a new 1.0-litre K10C engine which will make the Celerio, the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the segment.

New Generation Brezza

Maruti Suzuki is also working on an all-new generation of Vitara Brezza. The current generation of the compact SUV has started to show its age as the rivals now look more modern, attractive and offer more features too. It has been codenamed YXA internally. There is a possibility that the new generation Vitara Brezza is based on the Heartect platform. It is expected to retain its boxy styling. Maruti Suzuki will continue to offer the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.

Baleno based compact SUV

Since the launch of the Vitara Brezza, its prices have gone up by a significant margin. Due to this, many rivals are able to undercut it. So, Maruti Suzuki is working on a new smaller compact SUV that will be based on the Baleno and will sit below Vitara Brezza. It has been codenamed YTB internally and will share a lot of underpinnings with the Baleno. So, it will be based on the same Heaertect platform and will use the same 1.2-litre DualJet VVT petrol engine.

2022 Baleno

Maruti Suzuki is also working on a new generation of the Baleno. It has been spied quite a few times now but the details are still sparse. We do know that it will get an all-new exterior as well as an interior. There will be a new generation of the touchscreen infotainment system that will be larger, a new instrument cluster and a new automatic climate control unit. We do not expect Maruti Suzuki to make any changes to the engine. It is expected to launch in February of 2022.

S-Cross replacement

The S-Cross has now been on sale for quite some time now and it has started to show its age. It never really sold in good numbers for various reasons. Now, Maruti Suzuki is working on a replacement of S-Cross. It has been codenamed YFG and it will be the new flagship of the manufacturer. It is expected to launch around 2023 and Toyota will also sell a rebadged version of the new SUV.

Jimny 5-door

According to media sources, Maruti Suzuki will be launching the 5-door version of the Jimny. The new SUV has been spotted in the international market and should make its way to ours by next year. It has been codenamed YWD and will be rivalling Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha. It is expected to be sold only with a petrol engine.

Dzire, Vitara Brezza & Swift CNG

Maruti Suzuki is focusing a lot on CNG vehicles. They currently have the largest line-up of CNG vehicles in the Indian market. They call them S-CNG vehicles. They have been doing pretty well too. With prices of petrol and diesel so high, people are looking at alternative fuel options. So, Maruti Suzuki is working on a CNG version of Dzire, Swift and Vitara Brezza.
