Two upcoming performance motorcycles have been recently spied. The much awaited Bajaj CS 400, and the TVS Akula has been caught on camera while testing in India recently.
Bajaj Pulsar CS400
The Pulsar CS400 was showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 and since then, many reports of the motorcycle launching soon surfaced. The CS400 will use the same engine architecture as the KTM Duke 390 but will be tuned to produce less power than the KTM sibling. The technology sharing will be similar to the 200cc engine that is shared between the NS200 and the Duke 200. The CS400 will also be heavier than the Duke 390 and won’t be able to produce the same performance as the Duke 390. It will be more of a touring motorcycle with more fuel efficiency and riding comfort. The engine is expected to produce around 40 Bhp of maximum power against the KTM’s 43 Bhp output.
The motorcycle will get a fully digital speedometer, there will be ABS offered as standard with the CS 400 too.
Another upcoming motorcycle spied is the Akula from TVS. It is the first ever fully-faired motorcycle from TVS. The motorcycle was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and will be based on the BMW G310R, which has been developed jointly by TVS and BMW. The Akula will be powered a 310cc single-cylinder engine that will also power the G 310 R and will produce a maximum of 34 Bhp. The Akula will be fully faired version of the G 310 R with complete trellis frame set-up.
The Akula will feature dual projector headlamps with LED indicators. Other interesting features will include Pirelli tyres, dual-channel ABS, clip-on handlebars, all-digital instrument among other things.
TVS Akula will make an official debut in the Indian market by the end of this year.
