Maruti’s first indigenous sedan that offers a reliable and peace-of-mind upgrade from smaller hatchbacks while retaining all the good bits of hatchback: fuel-efficiency, easy-to drive character and low maintenance. Swift with a boot is no bad thing considering how frugal yet fun to drive Swift was and is. DZIRE currently costs Rs 5.82 Lakhs – 9.57 Lakhs on the new car market. A used Maruti Dzire is on the radar for those want to own a sedan for the price of a new hatchback. As with any Maruti, the VXi or VDi varaints offer the best compromise between features and price.
DZIRE average around Rs 6,24,000 in Bangalore with lower end tending to be around Rs 5,57,493 and upper end tending to be around Rs 6,69,750..The higher end of the range will get you ASPIRE which is 6 years old while if you veer towards the minimum, then you will have to contend with ETIOS which is 3 years old. So, what should you go for? Which are the best deals available on the market if you are looking for a relatively less used sample?

Recommendation #1: Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire VDi 2012
Year: 2012 / Kms Driven: 30,000 / List Price: Rs 485,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs 657,343
This entry, which comes at a discount of 26% to its original price is 7 years old and has done 30,000 Kms. Currently with its first owner, this black coloured DZIRE comes with a diesel powerplant. Considering that a new Wagon R costs Rs. 5 lakh+ on-road, this is a pretty good deal. Dzire is a well-built car and maintenance isn’t expensive either. So this sample should be good for another 70,000 km/6-7 years. And the fact it is a diesel would further reduce the running cost.
Recommendation #2: Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire ZXi 2012
Year: 2012 / Kms Driven: 19,602 / List Price: Rs 570,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs 649,722
This entry, which comes at a discount of 12% to its original price is 7 years old and has done 19,602 Kms. Currently with its first owner, this white coloured DZIRE comes with a petrol powerplant. While the car is 7 years old, it has done less than 20,000 km making it good for another 7-8 years at least. The new ZXi costs around Rs. 8 lakh so the price is quite reasonable though we think you can push it down somewhat. One thing: do get it checked to establish it has indeed clocked 19,000 km as claimed.
Recommendation #3: Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire LDi 2011
Year: 2011 / Kms Driven: 19,000 / List Price: Rs 450,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs 595,777
This entry, which comes at a discount of 24% to its original price is 8 years old and has done 19,000 Kms. This diesel-powered, silver DZIRE is currently with its first owner. Given its low mileage, you should not have to spend on anything major for at least 4-5 years. Still, we think there is scope of negotiation to bring down the price. And, do get the 19,000 km usage claim verified thoroughly.
The median price at which DZIRE has typically sold has been around Rs 4,65,000, and in Bangalore, that price has been around Rs 6,24,000
Since the final selling price data is not available, we estimate the actual selling prices to be 5-10% lower than this. Another tip: the most popular that gets bought and sold in Bangalore in the Compact Sedan category is Honda Amaze.
