The car has been listed for sale in Faridabad. It seems to be a build based on a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta TSI. A recent Instagram reel explains it in detail. The host claims that the vehicle has its Limo tax paid and says that the new owner can peacefully use it on Delhi roads.
The modifications have reportedly been done by DC and there is even a bill of 29 lakh as proof. So what has DC done for 29 lakh on a decade-old VW Jetta? The video provides a quick glance at it…
The Jetta, as mentioned in the video, has an HR51 (Faridabad) registration plate. First off, the chassis has been extended, generating generous room on the inside. The rear gets two rows of seats facing each other. There is a prominent central tunnel with integrated storage spaces and retractable tray tables. The roof gets a new liner and integrated vanity mirrors, along with ambient lighting. The seats have all been reupholstered to offer better comfort and support.
The central armrest can be opened to find storage underneath. The space between the seats too has hidden compartments inside. There could even be a mini fridge- as it is a common sight inside such limos. However, the video doesn’t mention about one. You could easily use this car to host business meetings or as a party place.
This VW Jetta limousine is now listed for sale on Carfinder website. It says the car to have clocked 54,000 Km on odo so far. Apparently, the insurance was valid till September 2024 only. The pollution, however, stands valid till 05 May 2025. It further says that this is a second-owner car and quotes 13.90 Lakh as the asking price.
In terms of specifications, this VW Jetta is powered by 1.4L, 4 Cylinders Inline petrol engine that produces 120hp and 200 Nm. The ARAI-certified mileage was 14.69 kpl, while owners used to get lower numbers during their daily runs. However, with the limo and chassis extension in place, the fuel efficiency could go for a toss.
To buy this or not depends upon how flexible you find your schedules and life at large to attend to the car’s demands and how much you plan to invest in it in terms of time and money. The vehicle is up for sale and you can get in touch with the seller for negotiations and booking. The legality of this modification, we would say, is on the borderline. So make sure to check and verify the documents thoroughly before deciding.
India And The Limo Culture
Even though India is still new to the limo culture, we already have sets of both nicely and poorly built limos here. Over the years, we have seen passionate owners building stretched-out versions of the Endeavour, Scorpio and more. There are also people who went further and created insane look-alike limos. This guy built a Mercedes G Wagen look-alike limo out of a Scorpio!
