Bolero is one of the oldest models from Mahindra that is still available on sale. Over the years, Mahindra has made several cosmetic changes to the car to meet the emission and safety norms. Mahindra Thar is still one of the popular utilitarian vehicle and is popular among customers from both rural and urban market. There are several modification options available for Bolero and we have featured some of them on our website. One of the most common type of modification that we have seen on Bolero is converting or modifying a Bolero to look like a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen. Here we have one such modified Mahindra Bolero that is available for sale.
The advertisement has been published by a seller on a Facebook page. The white colour Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen seen here in the pictures is actually a modified Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen. The Bolero has been completely transformed into a Mercdes-Benz. There are several garages and workshop who do such modification works and we have featured many of them in the past. It does not look like a Mahindra Bolero from any angle on the outside.

Starting with the front, the original front grille on this Bolero has been replaced with an large G-Wagen grille. A large Mercedes-Benz logo is also seen in the centre of the grille. The halogen headlamps have been replaced with projector LED units from the new generation G-Wagen. There is a ring like LED DRL integrated into the headlamps. There is a small LED DRL strip below the headlamp as well.
The bumper on this SUV looks different too. It is not exactly the same that we see on a G-Wagen. It looks like the workshop borrowed it from some other car. There are LED fog lamps in this as well. The bonnet of this SUV has been completely redesigned. The seller mentions in the advertisement that the full kit for this conversion was imported from Thailand. The Bolero bonnet was modified or replaced with a G-Wagen style unit. There are turn indictors mounted next to the bonnet like a G-Wagen.
Coming to the side profile, the fenders are made from lightweight fibre as well. There are fender flares and below them are the new alloy wheels. In fact, the seller says that these are original 20 inch alloy wheels from Mercedes-Benz and the cost of the alloy wheels alone is around Rs 1.25 lakh. Brand new tyres are wrapped around the wheels too. The side profile of the Bolero has also been completely redesigned or modified to look more like the original G-Wagen. The thick black strip running across the side profile of the car helps it achieve the looks along with the boxy design.
There are foot boards installed and the ORVMs are from a Mercedes-Benz sedan. The rear profile of the car gets G-Wagen style all LED tail lamps and the tailgate mounted on the tailgate with cover. The interiors of this SUV has not been customised heavily. It just gets a custom made seat covers and touchscreen infotainment system that shows feed from the reverse parking camera.
Coming to the details, this is a 2007 model diesel Mahindra Bolero. The suspension are new and it gets new brake pads too. All the electrical work was freshly done. The car is currenty registered in Maharashtra and comes with valid insurance. Asking price for this modified Mahindra Bolero is Rs 8.25 lakh.
