Renault launched the much-awaited Kiger in February. It is a compact SUV that is one of the most competitive segments of the Indian market. The Kiger competes against the Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mahindra XUV300 and the Ford Ecosport. Currently, the waiting period for the Kiger is more than two months. However, the new compact SUV has now just hit the used market. Buying a pre-owned Kiger means that you would not have to wait for the booking period and there is a chance that you also save a bit of money.
Here, is a Kiger that is currently on sale in the used market. It is a March 2021 model finished in Mahogany Brown colour with contrasting black roof. It has covered only 700 km. It is the RXT AMT variant. It means that it is powered by the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that Renault calls Energy. The engine produces 72 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 96 Nm. As standard, it comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, the Kiger that is on sale is equipped with a 5-speed Easy-R AMT transmission.
It is the RXT variant which sits just below the top-end RXZ variant. So, the RXT variant is also decently equipped with features. It comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which has been mounted on the dashboard so it mimics a floating tablet design. It comes with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

There is a rear wiper with washer, a passenger side vanity mirror, rear room lighting and adjustable headrests. The rear occupants get back pockets in front seats and a centre armrest with two cup holders. Then there are other features such as upper glove box, smart access card and a push button to start/stop. The driver gets seat height adjustment and a rear parking camera to park the car in more easily. The driver also gets convenience of a front armrest and a steering wheel controls for audio & phone.
The safety equipment also is bumped up with two side airbags and ISOFIX child seat mounts. It also comes with speed sensing door locks, rear parking sensors, driver and passenger airbag, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake distribution and load limiter and pretensioner seatbelt for driver only.
There are also some cosmetic upgrades such as 5-spoke styled flex wheels and a rear faux skid plate. Moreover, there is also a set of roof rails that are functional and can take a load of up to 50 kgs. The cabin gets a chrome knob on centre and side air conditioning vents, door handles finished in Mystery Black colour, chrome insert at the bottom of gearbox and the linear interlock design for the seat upholstery.
