Maruti Suzuki launched the new generation Ertiga in November last year amid much fanfare. The older generation model of the popular MPV had been on sale since long in the Indian market and had created a niche for itself. The Ertiga came with a ton of improvements in all departments, along with having a larger body and a more powerful engine. As was being expected, the new-gen Ertiga was bought in big numbers and became a success. Prices for the Ertiga start from Rs. 8.49 lakhs for the base variant and go all the way up to Rs. 13.25 lakhs for the top-end variant (on-road, Delhi). But what if we told you that you can buy the top-end model of the Ertiga for more than Rs. 1 lakh cheaper than the on-road price here.
That’s right, this white Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is available for sale at just Rs. 12.07 lakhs. It is the top-end ZDi Plus variant which costs Rs. 13.25 lakhs on-road, Delhi. This translates into a direct saving of around Rs. 1.15 lakhs for the buyer. Moreover, the advertisement for this Ertiga states that the car has covered only 300 km till date, which basically means it is brand new. The images here also show that the plastic covers on the seat have not been taken down yet. Running the number plates for the details, we see that this Ertiga was registered in June this year which means that it is just around 3 months old.
The car is naturally with its first owner and being the top-end variant, it comes loaded to the brim with features. It is powered by an all-new, in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine produces a maximum power of 94 Bhp at 4,000 rpm and peak torque of 225 Nm between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a manual gearbox on this variant.
Other engine options on the Ertiga include the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine too that generates a maximum of 89 Bhp and peak torque of 200 Nm. It gets SHVS mild hybrid system that takes the fuel efficiency to 25.47 km/l. The petrol variants of the Ertiga are powered by a 1.5-litre engine that develops a maximum of 104 Bhp and peak torque of 138 Nm. It gets a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic option.
The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the MPV is based on the HEARTECT platform that also underpins vehicles like Swift, Ignis, Baleno and others. Coming to the question of whether to go for this used Ertiga or not, we would say that it’s a decent deal. You’ll be getting the top end Ertiga for more than Rs. 1 lakh less. Apart from this, the car is already under insurance cover and the owner has fitted several basic accessories as well which make it a good value for money buy, especially since the vehicle is only 3 months old and barely used.
