Isuzu India has just launched the 2018 D-Max V-Cross lifestyle pick up truck. The Japanese utility vehicle maker has now released a TVC detailing the various new features on the 2018 model. Bookings for the new model are now open at all Isuzu dealerships in India. The 2018 model of the pick up truck is available in V-Cross and V-Cross High variants. The V-Cross variant is priced at Rs. 14.27 lakhs while the V-Cross High variant is priced at Rs. 15.77 lakhs. The vehicle is assembled at Isuzu’s Sri City factory in Andhra Pradesh through CKD (completely knocked down) kits imported from Thailand.
In terms of new features on offer, the 2018 V-Cross gets an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, leather seats, traction control, ESP, daytime running LEDs, side-steps, chrome detailing on the rear bumper, a restyled tailgate, LED tail lamps, a touchscreen infotainment system whose display also shows the reverse parking camera’s inputs, a multi-function steering wheel and cruise control.
ABS and twin airbags are standard safety features. Isuzu, through its dealers, offers a range of accessories for this pick-up truck, which is hugely popular in the South East Asian markets for its ruggedness and reliability. The most popular lifestyle pick-up truck in India due to the high levels of refinement and performance on offer, the V-Cross remains mechanically unchanged for 2018. It is powered by a 4 cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine displacing 2.5 liters. This engine produces 134 Bhp of peak power and 320 Nm of peak torque.
A five speed manual gearbox drives the rear wheels of the pick-up in 4X2 mode. There is a 4X4 transfer case from Borg Warner with shift-on-the-fly feature for low range and high range. When slotted into the 4X4 mode, the big Isuzu’s diesel engine sends torque to all four wheels. The V-Cross competes with the Mahindra Scorpio Getaway but is priced much higher.
