Ahead of its launch in November, the Ford EcoSport Facelift has been fully revealed through a video of a demo car. This video shows both the exteriors and interiors of the the compact SUV, which will be launched on the 9th of November. It will compete with the Maruti Vitara Brezza, the Mahindra TUV300 and Nuvosport models.
As the video reveals, the facelifted EcoSport will have totally revamped interiors. The dashboard is redesigned while there is a prominent touchscreen infotainment console that pops up. This is similar to what many luxury cars offer, and even the Tata Nexon has something similar.
The steering wheel of the facelifted car is new and it shows cruise control, audio control and voice control buttons. The interiors now have orange accents on the center console, dashboard and the door trim. These accents could be specific to top-end and S variants.
Yes, Ford will offer an S variant of the EcoSport, and this makes it the first compact SUV in India to have a sporty variant. The S variant is expected to have firmer suspension for better handling, just like the Figo S and Aspire S cars. The facelifted EcoSport is expected to be offered with the 1.5 liter TDCI turbocharged diesel engine with 98.6 Bhp and 205 Nm. This engine will get a 5 speed manual gearbox, and will drive the front wheels.
The petrol variants of the EcoSport will have 2 engine options – the new 1.5 liter, 3 cylinder Dragon engine with 120 Bhp and 150 Nm, and a 1 liter, 3 cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine with 125 Bhp and 170 Nm. The turbocharged petrol engine will get a 5 speed manual gearbox. The Dragon petrol engine will get 5 speed manual and 6 speed twin clutch automatic gearbox options. The EcoSport is expected to be offered at a competitive price tag, not too different from the outgoing version’s prices.
