[Video] Hyundai Elite i20 Facelift’s features and design detailed

Hyundai has released a video that details the features and design of the newly launched i20 Elite Facelift. The premium hatchback was launched at the Auto Expo 2018, with a starting price of Rs. 5.35 lakhs. The car is already at Hyundai dealerships around India and deliveries have started. The car gets minor changes to exterior styling, a mechanical update that will be introduced soon and also a few changes in the interiors.

The exterior changes include a new front bumper and grille design. Only car enthusiasts will be able to figure the minor changes as the new car looks very similar to the pre-facelift model. At the sides, the alloy wheels with a new design is a change more people will be able to figure out. At the rear, changes are more prominent with new tail lamps, a new hatch lid and also a revised bumper. The i20 Elite also gets a new colour – orange – and twin tone paint finish.

Interior features include a new 17.7 cm touchscreen infotainment unit, an Arkamys stereo, sliding armrest for the driver and an armrest with cup holders on the back seat. AC vents for the rear are on offer as well, a feature that the i20’s chief rival – the Baleno – does not offer. The car gets two airbags and ABS+EBD as standard across the variant line-up while the top-end Asta (O) trim gets 6 airbags.

Hyundai has dropped the 1.4 liter petrol engine-4 speed torque converter automatic gearbox combination from the i20 Elite Facelift’s range. Instead, the company will soon offer the 1.2 liter Kappa petrol engine with a CVT automatic gearbox. For now, the 1.2 liter petrol engine-5 speed manual gearbox, and the 1.4 liter turbocharged diesel engine-6 speed manual gearbox combinations are standard on the i20 Elite Facelift. The petrol-CVT combination will be introduced soon, and will go up against the Baleno CVT.
