Cricketing ace Virat Kohli gets two swanky new electric cars: Audi e-Tron and e-Tron GT

Apart from his on-field tactics, short and passion for the game, there is another reason for which Virat Kohli is highly praised – his love for cars. The ace cricketer from India has had some of the most desirable cars ranging from a fire-breathing supercar to a super-luxurious SUV. Virat Kohli is also serving as the brand ambassador for Audi in India for a long time, as a result of which he has been awarded top-of-the-line Audi cars in the past. The recent inclusions in Kohli’s garage bearing the famous logo of four interlinked rings are the Audi e-Tron and e-Tron GT.

In a couple of recent but separate videos, Virat Kohli can be seen chauffeured in a blue-coloured Audi e-Tron electric SUV and red-coloured Audi e-Tron GT four-door electric coupe. After digging in further details, we have come to know that both these cars are registered in the name of Skoda Audi Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd, which happens to be the parent company of Audi India. Given Kohli’s long association as Audi India’s brand ambassador, both these cars seem to have been rewarded to him.

Two electric supercars

The blue-coloured Audi e-Tron SUV in which Kohli is seen is the range-topping e-Tron 55 variant, which gets an all-wheel-drive layout with a combination of two electric motors. The combined power and torque outputs of the e-Tron SUV are rated at 402 bhp and 664 Nm. The 95 kWh lithium-ion battery of the e-Tron 55 offers a maximum driving range of 484 km. This particular variant of the SUV is priced at Rs 1.18 crore.

Likewise, the red-coloured Audi e-Tron GT here is also the range-topping variant, the e-Tron GT RS. With an electric motor at both front and rear axles, the e-Tron GT RS gets an all-wheel drive, with the combined power and torque outputs from the two electric motors being 637 bhp and 830 Nm. These figures put it in the supercar territory. The car also has an 84 kWh lithium-ion battery, which juices out a maximum range of 472 km. This variant is priced at Rs 2.16 crore.

It is not the first time Audi has rewarded a celebrity with its cars as a part of celebrity promotional activities. Apart from Virat Kohli, who has had a range of Audi cars in the past, a couple of Bollywood celebrities like Karan Johar and Kiara Advani were also awarded Audi A8 L by the German carmaker. Such a strategy has rewarded many car companies around the world, as seeing your favourite celebrity in a car increases the car’s desirability factor by multiple times.

Apart from the new e-Tron and e-Tron GT, Virat Kohli has had a few other prominent offerings from Audi in the past. The ace cricketer has owned a range of Audis like the R8, R8 LMX, R8 V10 Plus, A8 L W12 Quattro, RS5, S6, Q7 and Q8. He has also owned a few other luxurious offerings like Range Rover Vogue, Lamborghini Gallardo, Bentley Continental GT and Bentley Flying Spur.
