The captain of Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, has been announced as the brand ambassador of the cab-hailing service Uber. This is the first time Uber has appointed a brand ambassador in the Asia Pacific region. Notably, Uber appointed another sports person Mohamed Salah as a brand ambassador for the Egypt market.
Virat is expected to be seen in the upcoming television commercials and print media advertisements of Uber in India. The start-up or Virat have not mentioned the financial terms of the deal.
Virat Kohli said in a statement,
“As a cricketer, I travel a lot and I have personally enjoyed the seamless experience of booking an Uber. It’s great to see how the company is using technology to revolutionize the way people move around cities and is empowering millions by creating economic opportunities. I am very excited to join hands with a company that is so committed to people and cities they operate in,”

The move of appointing Virat may go well in the long run as he’s the youth icon in the country and stays in headlines most of the times.
