Mumbai vlogger in Mercedes Maybach GLS600 pranks people with ‘bounce feature’

Mercedes-Benz is currently the most popular and largest luxury car manufacturer in India. They recently launched their most expensive luxury SUV the Maybach GLS600 in Indian market. It is a proper SUV which is filled to the brim with features. The Maybach GLS600 is for those who thought the regular GLS was not luxurious enough. Mercedes brought 50+ units to India and surprisingly even after having a hefty price tag, manufacturer sold all of them already. The GLS600 comes with variety of features and one such feature that helps it while off-roading is the recovery mode. In this mode, the car bounces and comes out of a stuck situation on its own. Here we have a video where a vlogger shows how people reacted to this feature on Indian roads.

The video has been uploaded by Horsepower Cartel on their YouTube channel. Initially, the vlogger takes the Maybach GLS600 for a drive and then also mentions how luxurious it is on the inside. It is actually a mansion on wheels. It offers premium leather upholstery, large panoramic sunroof, ample space for passengers on the second row with several luxury features.

The next day, they drive the SUV on busy roads of Mumbai to see people’s reaction. He turns on the recovery mode while driving the car at slow speeds. The car started to bounce and people started noticing it. He even stopped at couple of places and asked for direction to people. He told them that they were looking for a mechanic as the car is not working properly.

Most of them realised that the vlogger was doing it purposefully as they saw camera in his hand. They laughed and said it is a good vehicle. Many motorists even gave reaction that the car was looking beautiful. They stopped at couple of traffic signals and people waiting for the signal were amazed to see a bouncing Mercedes-Maybach SUV in their ORVMs. Several autorickshaw drivers, pedestrians also stared at the car thinking what is actually happening.

At one point they wanted to see how cops reacted to this bounce function and that did not end well. A senior police officer who was in the spot warned them not to do it as they are interrupting an officer while he is on duty. After that the vlogger admits that he shouldn’t have done that on video and apologises for the same.

Coming back to the Maybach GLS600, it is priced at Rs 2.43 crore, ex-showroom. GLS600 is currently the flagship SUV from Mercedes in India. It is sold in a single variant in Indian market. The exterior on the Maybach is slightly revised to differentiate it from regular GLS. It comes with safety features like Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist, Active Steering Assist, Adaptive High Beam Assist plus Adaptive LED tail lamps, 8 airbags, TPMS, Parking Package with 360-degree camera, and many more features. The GLS600 is powered by a 4.0 litre V8 along with a 48v mild-hybrid system. The engine generates 557 Ps and 730 Nm of peak torque while the mild-hybrid system generates 22 Ps and 250 Nm boost on demand.
