Volkswagen launches Polo GT Sport edition

Volkswagen has launched limited run Polo GT Sport in both TSI petrol and TDI diesel variant. The limited edition is expensive by around Rs. 20,000 and is priced at Rs. 7.91 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 9.81 lakh for the diesel at ex-showroom, Mumbai. Both the variants will be on sale for around 3 months but the company sees a regular demand, the variants will be continued for more time.

The Polo GT Sport edition gets cosmetic updates but mechanically, the vehicle remains the same. The changes include gloss black roof, roof mounted black spoiler, 16-inch Portago alloy wheels and leatherette-finish seats with GT Sport embossing. The regular Polo GT gets dual-tone seat upholstery. The exterior colour option includes Flash Red and Candy White.

The equipment list also remains unchanged. The Polo GT TSI is powered by 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that gets generates 105 BHP of maximum power and gets a 7-speed dual clutch transmission as standard. The GT TDI is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo engine that generates a maximum of 110 BHP and comes only with 5-speed manual gearbox.

With this offering, we are providing our consumers with an option to choose a sportier variant of the most loved hatchback the Polo GT.”

The Polo GT twins have received quite a few optional packages in the recent past. VW now offers LED headlamp package with the hatchback. The Polo GT twins compete against the likes of Maruti Baleno RS, Ford Figo Sports and Abarth Punto in the market.
