Volkswagen Polo is quite popular among enthusiasts because of its driving dynamics and powerful engine. They are often also customized by their owners. Here, we have a Volkswagen Polo that has been wrapped in a Wasabi Green colour. The video is uploaded on YouTube by BROTOMOTIV and the modification was also done by them.
The video starts with the customer review. He says that the shop offered 15 different shades of green to wrap the Polo. He says that the colour looks beautiful on the car and the shop has also taken care of little things. For instance, the eyelids and the green surround around the Volkswagen badge. The stock colour of the Polo was red. Wraps have now become a very popular and common way of modifying a vehicle. It also protects the car from getting minor scratches and it protects the original factory paint.

Then the wrapping procedure is shown. The headlamps, taillamps, front and rear bumper are removed. This is done so that the wrap can properly tuck in and stick on the panels. Not following this process does save some money but the chances of the wrap peeling off increases.
The customer wanted to wrap the Polo in a two-tone paint scheme of green with a black roof. However, there were some dents on the roof. So, the shop recommended that the owner should get the roof painted in piano black because then the dents will not be visible. This also saves some cost and is permanent, unlike wrapping. There were some stone chippings on the front and the side of the Polo. So, the shop fixed that.
The wrap is sourced from a French company called Hexis. It is one of the oldest and most reputed companies. The life of the Hexis wrap is around 5 years as compared to some Chinese brands whose wraps only last for 2 or 3 years.
The corners of the car were also primed so that the wrap can easily stick. Then the wrap was applied to all the body panels. The alloy wheels were cleaned and they were painted in gloss black. The brake callipers were finished in gloss red colour. The front grille was also finished in black colour and even the front Volkswagen badge was finished in black colour. The rear badge was also painted in black and the middle space was filled with green wrap.
A black coloured GT TSI badge was also applied on C-pillars. While the front headlamps get eyelids the rear one gets a smoked finish. The owner had already fitted the Polo with after-market LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps and after-market LED tail lamps.
The price of wrapping a car starts at Rs. 20,000 or Rs. 30,000 but the quality of those wraps is not good. There are also wraps that cost Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 50,000. The owner mentions that before this, he went to another place that quoted him wrap for Rs. 1.6 lakhs. The prices of wraps totally depend on the quality that the owner wants.
