If you pre-book the Taigun then you get some benefits too. Volkswagen is offering Rs. 5,000 off on an extended warranty or service value package for 2 years or you can get accessory packages worth Rs. 5,000. Taigun will get the same engine and transmission options as the Kushaq. So, there are two petrol engines that have a displacement of 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre. The 1.0-litre produces 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque while the 1.5-litre produces 150 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines would be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. Then there is a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment is connected to 6 speakers. It also gets Wireless application connectivity and voice commands. There is also a wireless charger on offer.

The Taigun is based on the MQB A0 IN platform which is the same one as the Skoda Kushaq. The new platform is specifically made for India to reduce costs. It also complies with new emission requirements for India. Volkswagen has increased the localization level to 95 percent which is helpful in decreasing the prices. Despite using the same platform, the Taigun has a higher ground clearance.
