Volkswagen has finally announced the prices and variant line-up of the much-awaited Taigun midsize SUV. Undoubtedly the most important product from Volkswagen in recent years, the Taigun has been introduced in two trim levels of ‘Dynamic Line’ and ‘Performance line’. Both these trim levels of Volkswagen Taigun are getting multiple variants to choose from. Following is a complete bifurcation of what are the variant options and the available powertrain options and features across them.
Dynamic Line
This trim level of the Volkswagen Taigun gets the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which makes 115 PS of maximum power and 178 Nm of maximum torque. The Dynamic line has a total of three different variants to choose from, with two transmission options of 6-speed manual (MT) and 6-speed automatic (AT):

Comfortline – Rs 10.50 lakh (MT)
This is the most basic model of the entire lineup of Volkswagen Taigun and gets basics like a chrome grille, front and rear silver diffuser, halogen headlamps with LED DRLs, black roof rails, electrically adjustable ORVMs with LED turn indicators, wheel caps for 16-inch steel wheels and Infinity LED tail lamps.
On the inside, this variant gets dual-tone upholstery, rear AC vents, multi-functional steering wheel, manual AC, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 6-speakers. The list of safety features in this variant comprises dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, brake assist and reverse parking sensors
Highline – Rs 12.80 lakh (MT), Rs 14.10 lakh (AT)
This variant adds in more features like chrome finish for front bumper, front fog lamps, silver roof rails, 16-inch ‘Belmonte’ alloy wheels, rear wiper, washer and defogger, gloss-black touches in the cabin, electrically foldable rearview mirrors, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless charging, touch-controlled automatic climate control, 60:40 split rear seats, white ambient lighting, rear parcel tray, front and rear dual USB-C charging sockets, ‘My Volkswagen’ telematics, cooled glovebox and a rear centre armrest with cup holders. The automatic variants also add in hill hold control and paddle shifters.
Topline – Rs 14.57 lakh (MT), Rs 15.91 lakh (AT)
This top-spec variant in the Dynamic Line comes with additional features over Highline, like a 3-D chrome grille, LED headlamps with DRLs, chrome-finished door handles and window line, 17-inch ‘Cassino’ alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, side and curtain airbags, tire pressure deflation warning, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, 8-inch full TFT instrument console, push-button start-stop, sunroof and ventilated front seats.
Performance line
The more premium ‘Performance line’ has two GT-spec variants, which comes with a more powerful and sophisticated 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. Having cylinder deactivation technology as standard, this engine makes 150 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of maximum torque. While the range starting GT variant gets a 6-speed manual, the more premium ‘GT Plus’ has a 7-speed DSG as standard transmissions.
GT – Rs 15 lakh (MT)
The standard features available in this variant are GT badges on the front grille, boot lid and front fenders, halogen headlamps with LED DRLs, chrome-finished upper and lower grille, 16-inch Belmonte alloy wheels, infinity LED tail lamps, leatherette upholstery with wild cherry red stitching, red ambient lighting, rear AC vents, hill start assist, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless charging, front and rear dual USB-C charging sockets, ‘My Volkswagen’ telematics, automatic climate control, multi-functional steering wheel and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs. The list of safety features is shared with the Comfortline variant of the

This flagship variant in the Taigun’s lineup has more features over the GT variant, such as auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, push-button start-stop, sunroof, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, side and curtain airbags, dual-tone paint options, chrome finish on door handles and window line, paddle shifters, cruise control, 3-D chrome step grille, aluminium pedals and red coloured front brake callipers
