Volkswagen Taigun features showcased in a new TVC

Last year, Volkswagen entered the highly competitive midsize SUV segment with the Taigun. Since the discontinuation of the Polo from the Indian car market, the Taigun has become the volume driver for Volkswagen in the country, where the SUVs have become much more popular than ever before. To ensure that it is not left behind other of its rivals in the race of numbers, Volkswagen has equipped the Taigun with a host of premium features. Here’s a TVC which showcases all the premium highlights available in the Volkswagen Taigun.

The video starts by showcasing the highlights of the exterior of the Volkswagen Taigun, with bits like a 3D chrome step grille and signature trapezoidal chrome wing on the front bumper. This chrome wing engulfs the fog lamps on the sides and is stretched across the width of the front bumper.

The Taigun became the first made-in-India model from Volkswagen to feature all-LED headlamps, including daytime running LEDs and LED turn indicators in them. It also features a single-pane electric sunroof, which makes the cabin feel airier. The most eye-catching highlight of the exterior of the Taigun has to be the infinity LED tail lamps with an LED light bar across the width of the boot lid.

Volkswagen has ensured that the cabin of the Taigun feels as premium as how the SUV looks on the outside. As seen in the video, the cabin is equipped with some feel-good highlights like ambient lighting and a dual-tone interior with a black and grey combination and wild cherry red stitching. The Taigun also shows its practical side with the large 385 litres of boot space, 60:40 split functionality for the rear seats and cup holders. The Taigun is one of the most recent Volkswagens to get the famed 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DSG) from the carmaker.

The Volkswagen Taigun also gets the new-gen three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, aluminium pedals and 17-inch Manila alloy wheels, all of which enhance its style statement. Features like voice command recognition, a 10-inch VW Play touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless charging and a full-TFT virtual cockpit display for the instrument console make the cabin feel youthful. Other features of the cabin include a push start-stop button, rear AC vents and a cooled glovebox. The Taigun also gets around 40+ safety features, including a reverse camera and sensors, up to six airbags, electronic stability control and ISOFIX mounts for child seats.

While it was not shown in the video, the Volkswagen Taigun is available with two petrol engine options. The volume-oriented 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine produces 115 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque and is available with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter. There’s also a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine, which produces 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque, and is available with 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG gearbox options.
